ThirdSpace Action Lab (TSAL) was created to disrupt the vicious cycle of disinvestment + displacement that negatively impacts the vitality of low-income communities of color. We are a grassroots solutions studio dedicated to prototyping creative, place-based solutions to complex socio-economic problems. We are institutional + community organizers, turning multidisciplinary research into evidence-based strategies; and activating “third places” to co-create more liberated spaces for people of color. TSAL is a Black-owned, Black woman-led small business based in Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood. We work locally in Cleveland, regionally in Northeast Ohio, and nationally.

Our People's Practice team is out in the field at Center for Community Progress' Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference sharing their work on anti-racist community development. Deep dive into the research and issues here: thepeoplespractice.org.
The ThirdSpace Action Lab team has been on the road this fall socializing the concept of anti-racist community development at various conferences. We've had a great time at the Center for Community Progress' Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference. The people here are amazing and doing such important work revitalizing their local communities. You can always feel it when you've found a group of mission-driven or mission-aligned friends. Special thanks to Kat J. Guillaume- Delemar , Madison Gharghoury & Tasha Hall-Garrison for helping make it such a pleasant experience as a sponsor and as a participant. P.S. It's also so nice being in Mayor Tishaura Jones' city when we knew her back when she was the treasurer working on citywide Children Savings Accounts (CSAs). Her team is doing wonderful things.
