Great time at the Arch Grants Nexus Gala last night. Huge congratulations to the new 2024 cohort, which includes some agtech, plant science, and agri-food companies. Big shoutout and thanks to Gabe Angieri and the whole AG team. This annual gala was an inspiring showcase of both previous and new Arch Grants funded companies and their impact on the #STL ecosystem. It's events like this that remind us how amazing St. Louis is as a supportive community and region for diverse #entrepreneurs.

Great news from the ICL Group on their expansion and continued investment (over half a billion) in #STL. ICL is global speciality minerals company. This large-scale commercial production plant that will manufacture lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode active material (CAM) ultimately going towards energy storage and EVs. While not directly #agtech, this can impact energy storage for greenhouses and solar power irrigation systems, as well as electrifying farm equipment such as tractors and drones. Compared to other battery chemistries, LFP batteries are more environmentally friendly aligning with the agricultural sector’s push towards increased sustainability goals. Great to see these synergies happening in St. Louis.

We definitely agree that #STL is the place to be for #agtech companies. Huge congrats to Sarah Schlafly Jerry Heise and Mighty Cricket who were awarded a $650,000 grant from USDA NIFA for research on turning food manufacturing waste into cricket feed with the ultimate goal of this being turned into protein powder.

Congrats to the 2024 Arch Grants cohort and all those entrepreneurs who submitted and pitched this year! Great to see so many agtech, plant, and agri-food companies in the mix.
