JACK AND THE BEANSTALK?debuts?on Max on Wednesday, January 1st?as part of the?REFRAMED: NEXT GEN NARRATIVES series! Directed and co-written by Regan Linton,?JACK AND THE BEANSTALK?was produced as part of?Warner Bros/Discovery Access Program. The film is a remake of the 1952 film made by Abbott and Costello. It focuses on a neurodivergent employee at a grocery store who is denied a living wage, and must find the boldness to push for what is right. The film was proudly filmed in Denver, with community partners including RTD, Pacific Mercantile Company, Sakura Square, The Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library, Five Points, and local muralists Chloe Duplessis and Valerie Rose, among others. And, finishing services were completed at 38th & Post (The other five films in the?series were shot in LA.) GO DENVER!! And it features outstanding local talent. This film centers on the issue of people with disabilities being paid a sub-minimum wage. Currently,?advocates have been working hard to get Congress to end sub-minimum wage practices by passing the?Transformation to Competitive Integrated Employment Act (TCIEA).
