We just wrapped up the Fall 2024 37signals meetup. Everyone from a dozen countries in the same city (Montreal, this time) for a week of hanging out, working together, and sharing meals. All organized and managed in a single Basecamp project that everyone had access to. A message board for deliberate announcements everyone needed to know. A chat room for casual whatever, quick links, bad jokes. To-dos (all done) for assigning lightning talks and our peer appreciation and recognitions. Docs & Files for recordings of key sessions, goals for the week, the floor plan for the venue, a spot for everyone to share photos, hotel confirmation information + check-in/out dates, and the overall agenda for the week. A door out to the Google signup sheet for group dinners and outings. A door out to meeting room reservations (also a Google sheet). A door out to the wonderful Montreal guide Gabe made using Writebook (https://lnkd.in/gc6ju2_M) And a schedule, now all dates past, for notable things happening during the week. All in one place, all right where you'd expect it. Straightforward and no-nonsense. Because easy shouldn’t be hard.
