There are right ways and wrong ways to use AI in sales – and it's easy to get carried away with the hype. But in the current situation, while GenAI is constantly developing, you can't go wrong if you introduce AI in three fundamental ways: 1?? Let AI organize your potential customers into smaller groups than you would do manually. This way, you can speak to them more personally in whichever channel you or they are in – which is something all customers want today. 2?? Set up AI to look at trends online – and perhaps on social media – to ID what customers are buying that's similar to your offering, or what they prefer or value at the moment. These insights help you offer recommendations in a way that tallies with their expectations. You can always convey your unique value in different words to suit the new situation! 3?? We all know about customer service chatbots who talk in plain English. But an in-house one is also useful. You train it on your own documents – some of which may not be public-facing – and on your data in the CRM. The conversational in-house AI can then help your reps by offering timely information on screen during calls or when composing emails etc. #GenAI #360Consulting #Tips

We mentioned on Monday how easy it is to let training, learning, and mentorship slip as AI help becomes more embedded. But here are a few reasons why we've spent decades going on about training: ?? You're offering your reps the chance to learn better communication skills, methodology, and admin expertise – and that applies even when using AI for admin. They need to understand the processes even when they don't do all the tasks manually. How else will they get an informed view of the whole sales business? ?? Training helps your sales team leaders become their best so they can lead with real insight into the job, and also with emotional intelligence – something most teams will respond to positively and therefore remain loyal. ?? You're teaching and guiding (forever, it seems!) on how to follow through on best sales practices based on your sales playbook. There's not much point in it being there if no one uses it! But initial use can grow into expert use with ongoing training and practice. ?? Training and mentoring in sales ensures your whole business becomes more efficient – and (crucially) adapts to all this new tech really quickly.
