We're an international movement of ordinary people working to end the fossil fuel era and build a better future for all.

关于我们

350.org works on grassroots campaigns across the globe, leveraging people power — individuals working together in pursuit of a common goal — to dismantle the influence and infrastructure of the fossil fuel industry and to power up clean systems rooted in justice. To build a more sustainable and just future, we collaborate with communities at the frontline of the climate crisis, those who have historically contributed the least emissions but are feeling the worst effects. We campaign and organise to show the world we really want, in pursuit of energy justice and distributed renewable energy solutions that will move us away from fossil fuels, for good. Over the past 15 years, we have mobilised with people around the world to confront injustice and challenge our fossil-fuelled economic systems. Together, we have achieved extraordinary things, from getting millions of people onto the streets worldwide, to moving trillions of dollars away from the fossil fuel industry, to stopping dirty coal, oil and fossil gas plants and pipelines. We take on ambitious fights – and we often win!

On November 11, COP29 begins in Baku, Azerbaijan. Over the following two weeks, countries will negotiate a critical new climate finance goal, as well as their individual plans and commitments to address the climate crisis and keep global heating below 1.5C per the Paris Agreement. 350.org has two key demands for COP29, widely dubbed the “finance” COP: 1. Countries pledge at least $1 trillion in grants to the new climate finance goal, or New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG). The financial, climate and social needs of the Global South should inform where this money comes from and how it’s delivered and spent. 2. Countries make ambitious national commitments, or Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), that are in line with fairly tripling renewable energy capacity and phasing out fossil fuels by 2030. Climate action depends on fair, equitable finance. That’s why our delegation of climate advocates, activists and policy analysts will be on-site to follow the negotiations and keep a finger on the pulse of the “finance” COP. Meet the team on the ground below, and reach out to [email protected] for media inquiries including additional sources for background, quotes and analysis.

Social media is a scary place to be right now. One way to take care of yourself might be to get some space from it altogether — but if you’re here and trying to stop yourself from doom scrolling, we wanted to offer a brief but meaningful alternative. We’ve started gathering stories from people who are creating the world we all deserve, a world that centers hope, climate justice and community care. Check them out ?? https://350.org/hope-hub

The U.S. election has been called and Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States. ? ? 350.org acknowledges the outcome of the democratic process but we’re also concerned that this result could set back the rights of many communities, colleagues, partners and allies in the U.S., result in violations of marginalized people and produce a more dangerous, isolationist nation.? ? In that darkness, our faith must remain in each other, our climate movement and in multilateralism: other nations can step up to lead where the U.S. falls short. Many already are. ? ? Trump isn’t in office yet, and there are still things Joe Biden can achieve before January 2025. But meanwhile, to everyone feeling hurt and scared, we see you and we stand beside you. ? ? Our full statement is available here: https://lnkd.in/gATGnH-4 In solidarity, onward.

We and 111 other organisations sent an open letter to Wopke Hoekstra with a simple request: do not bring fossil fuel lobbyists to COP this year. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eKW38BuD There is a lot of room for improvement, as last year 130 lobbyists from the coal, oil and gas industry were present on behalf of the EU and its member states. ?? "We don't let the tobacco industry into health conferences, so why do we let fossil fuel lobbyists into the UN climate talks?" A question we hope to get an answer to at the Commissioner Hearings starting today. ?? Stay tuned for more on the COP and the hearings.

A Gender Just Energy Transition argues that women-led, community-driven renewable energy access improves livelihoods, wellbeing and climate resilience while bolstering women’s leadership in creating a truly just transition. Centering power and rights as vital to any energy transition, this framework asks "whose interests matter in a transition?" and "what are we transitioning from and to?" Join tomorrow's webinar with SHINE and partners, including 350's Head of Campaigning & Organizing Sonia Kwami, for a conversation that will explore these questions through examples, diverse perspectives and the latest research from financiers, leading researchers, practitioners and advocates. Date: Wednesday, 30 October Time: 3-5pmCAT | 1-3pmGMT | 9-11amEDT Register here: https://lnkd.in/gKiFDYNE

Savio Carvalho and Sonia Kwami 350.org's new executive team members lay out their visions for turbocharging a new global community renewables network to build #OurOwnPower at #ClimateWeekNY and #UNGA summit. "We must make these summits count for something, it is in our collective interest to ensure they live up to the needs of our communities. This is how we are fighting the oil and gas giants—with hope, with community, with vision—tooled with solar panels and wind turbines"
