Over and over again, we hear the same sad story from the owners. “We provide really good ABA, but no one is sending referrals our way!” Well, the good news is your wrong. The bad news is you need to get to work. Think of people coming to your business as a pipe. The dream scenario is they go from one side of the pipe to the other. But the reality is, they end up leaking out at various spots, and by the time your leads get to you, there are almost none left. Before throwing money at marketing endeavors, make sure you fix your leaky pipe, and ensure those referrals are flowing from one side to the other with no breaks. It is crucial that you treat referrals like gold- Because they are. Consider this. If you get a new client who came from an ad, how does that person think that you get clients? What about someone who was referred to you? How do they think you get clients? So, when it comes to who is going to send you clients in the future, the one who was referred is going to be much more likely to recommend people to you. Therefore, as soon as a referral comes to you, make sure you show them that you value when a referral comes your way, so that way they will end up sending more and more and more. Selfish people finish last... And will never get a pediatrician to call you back. When it comes to building relationships with other community providers, the more you talk about yourself, the more you will lose the relationship. The secret to good local outreach is ensuring that you have something to share that is worth sharing. Remember, that as a BCBA, you have a strong expertise and information to share. The ethics code is incredibly clear when it comes to getting Google Reviews... Said no one ever. With Google reviews being an essential part of staying visible in a crowded market, how can you ensure your business doesn’t get lost? While there is not a perfect solution, a close read of the ethics code has Matt recommending that you should focus on reducing the power dynamic and lowering the response effort of leaving Google Reviews.
