For too long, we have been stuck in the belief that change originates from one source, and that it can be managed, communicated, and strategically planned in a vacuum. We know that change is messy and difficult and yet have repeatedly been lured by the notion that, with the right leader/goal/resources, it can be simple, straightforward, and linear. Our educational system itself is nearly a perfect medium for facilitating this type of top-down, single-origin systemic change. Over the past few decades, we have come to realize that successful change efforts need to be both top-down and bottom-up. In order to accomplish this, we work to build knowledge, skills, and mindsets in systems, building and teacher leaders. We do this through our Communities of Practice and Graduate Programs. Everything we do is built to counter the root causes of the chronic ineffectiveness of educator learning in the K12 setting. Rather than accept the status quo, we disrupt it by asking… WHAT IF we were to build educator experiences, based on learning science and behavioral economics, to create a different reality? WHAT IF we created learning that was joyful, respectful, personalized and appropriately incentivized educators? Our focus is on capacity building, not training. We want to work with you for the shortest period of time needed to make our presence unnecessary; success looks like your organization having the capacity to sustain the work and succeed on your own. How we get there is customized for you, by you, with 2Rev at your side. Whether we are supporting transformational change in a school system, an educator preparation program, or a single classroom, our approach is learner-centered. We will never offer a one-size-fits-all solution, because we are not the experts when it comes to the challenges facing your particular system, program, or classroom. We are there to listen to the experts–you–and guide you through the transformational change that your school or system needs.

Taking a moment to reflect on a significant milestone in my journey as a transformation coach with 2Revolutions in partnership with ForwARd Arkansas, working on school transformation initiatives. Over the last several months, I've had the privilege of partnering with the White Hall High School leadership team to shape and implement their new mission, vision, core values, and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing both student and staff culture. As with any transformation process, challenges arose, but we stayed focused and committed to making an impact. This week, during my school visit, I had the opportunity to observe classrooms, connect with the core team, and roll out a new initiative focused on peer-to-peer observations. This initiative not only encourages collaboration but also builds teacher capacity through 2x2 feedback loops, fostering professional growth. While there, we had local media join us to highlight the team’s progress towards success. I must admit, I am overjoyed with how much this team has grown and how they’ve embraced my feedback and pushes along the way. I collaborate with school teams on transformational learning journeys as a coach and nerd about what's possible in education. PRIS is one of the schools I'm working closely with this year as a consultant for 2Revolutions who partners with ForwARd Arkansas through the #LeARnerCollective. I so appreciate being able to support their work in building more shared leadership across their teacher team and strengthening partnerships with their family community. Every day educators are out there making magic and designing what can be.
At Pea Ridge Intermediate School, part of the #LeARnerCollective, the team takes a “coalition approach that brings teachers directly into the decision-making process without taking them out of the classroom.” Principal Mindy Bowlin says it’s a strategy that’s helped boost educator recruitment and retention.
