Bridges faculty enjoyed a wonderful and informative professional learning session Friday. Dr. Joy Lawson-Davis keynoted on the importance of intentionality in supporting culturally diverse 2e learners. Dr. Matthew Fugate spoke about how to support crucial conversations with students as facilitators while helping them build critical skills needed for productive communication, and Maureen Montanía held a lively and entertaining session on practical strategies for increasing inclusivity and a sense of belonging in the classroom through the lens of gender identity.
Bridges faculty members Patryce Harris, Kristy Boelter, and Ashley Whitfield then presented on tools and strategies they have employed, including platforms to encourage creative writing and ways to use grouping by interest to empower diverse learners to explore, create, and apply advanced skills in meaningful ways through the Enrichment Triad Model.
These regular professional learning opportunities allow faculty to learn, sharpen, and deploy strategies, activities, and support to enhance and enrich the educational and social-emotional experiences of our #2e learners. These sessions are made possible through Bridges Academy's collaborative partnership with Bridges Graduate School and the 2e Center.
