We wrapped up our second issue of the International Monetary Fund’s magazine F&D! Each issue focuses on a theme around economics. The March issue, “The Talent Equation,” focuses on the global impact of finding and nurturing talent and how doing so spurs economic growth. For the visual direction we selected illustrators that would humanize the theme, all beautifully achieved by Yasmine Gateau, Simona Bortis-Schultz, Traci Darbecko, and Abbey Lossing. Additional illustration for the features and departments complemented the cover package, including portraits by John Jay Cabuay, Eric Frommelt’s take on “Reconnecting Morality with Political Economy,” and Point of View artist, Chantal Jachan. We are honored to add the International Monetary Fund’s magazine F&D to our portfolio. As we took on this new assignment we looked to elevate the art direction of this expertly designed magazine (original design by Point 5). For each themed issue, our direction is to select an artist whose style embodies that theme. The December issue focuses on real estate so we selected Cristiana Couceiro’s for her powerful sense of architecture and development to set the tone. Additional artists, including Michael Morgensten, Andre Da Loba, Shout, and Ben Wiseman, captured the essence of an individual article while working cohesively as a collection for the themed package. These pieces were complemented by commissioned and stock photography, balancing concepts with a sense of place for the package.
