Following the welcome speeches, the morning activities were rounded out by plenary talks by Stephen Jordan of Google Quantum AI, Adam Bouland from Stanford University, and Clemence Chevignard from Inria! In celebration of QIP, the Complex Brew at Raleigh Convention Center?even had some themed beverages! In the afternoon, we had the first sets of parallel talks from the full range of areas covered by QIP, included but not limited to error correction, algorithms, and cryptography. We hope you all enjoyed your stay in Raleigh for QIP 2025! This 28th iteration of QIP was the largest yet, with just over 900 attendees! Over the next week or so, we will be posting photos and other fun content from the entire week's worth of action! On the first morning of the conference following the tutorials, we had welcome speeches from members of the local organizing committee (Iman Marvian, Di Fang, Ken Brown, and Frank Mueller), the Duke?Provost Alec D. 28th Annual Quantum Information Processing Conference #QIP2025 – What a fantastic conference! https://lnkd.in/gjitsrqB It was great to meet with XPRIZE #QuantumApplications competitor teams, advisors, and judges, as well as to engage in insightful discussions on the future of quantum applications. I especially enjoyed reconnecting with Catherine Lefebvre, PhD , XPRIZE Quantum Applications advisor, and getting to know Maryann Hohn, Natalie Durgin and Mio Murao as we continue working towards increasing women's participation in quantum. A big thank you to Ryan Babbush, advisor and judging panel chair, for his excellent overview of the XPRIZE Quantum Applications competition and for sharing how teams can still get involved through the Phase I Wild Card entry. Excitingly, QIP 2026 will be held in Riga at the University of Latvia (Latvijas Universitāte), and I had the pleasure of meeting next year’s local organizing team, Zane ?erpakovska, Aija Bauere, and Jelena Glusakova.
