23andMe customers who consented to participate and advance genetic research helped contribute to a new landmark study led by The University of Edinburgh and King's College London, which looked at genomes of 5M+ people across 29 countries to uncover ~300 previously unknown genetic links to depression. The results of this new study stand out for the diversity of the data set and have implications for reducing ethnic disparity in future advances in genomic medicine.
