AI Governance Shift: The Forgotten EO and What It Means for AI Regulation Much attention has been given to the repeal of Executive Order 14110, but EO 14091’s rescission also has significant consequences for AI governance. While not directly AI-focused, EO 14091 ensured that federal AI applications followed fairness principles and equity guidelines. Its repeal signals a policy shift away from AI fairness requirements, leaving businesses, agencies, and state regulators to fill the gaps.
