Welcome to the official LinkedIn page of the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, coming to Minnesota in June 2026. The 2026 Special Olympics USA Games will feature competition in 16 sports and will bring more than 3,000 athletes, 1,500 coaches, 10,000 volunteers and 75,000 fans from across North America together for the largest humanitarian event in Minnesota's history. The Special Olympics USA Games began in Ames, Iowa in 2006 and have continued every four years since, having been hosted in Lincoln, Nebraska (2010), New Jersey (2014), Seattle, Washington (2018) and Orlando, Florida (2022).

Please join us in welcoming Lisa Chazanovitz, Director of Delegation Services for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games! In this role, Lisa will be responsible for providing support to the leaders who will accompany each delegation of athletes from every state Program. Lisa’s work to provide the delegation heads with a variety of services will ensure that the athletes will have a seamless and exceptional experience at the Games. Lisa brings extensive experience in the orchestration of large-scale events. She is currently the Senior Manager of Events & Hospitality Programs at Special Olympics International (SOI), overseeing the Honored Guest Program for international events including the 2019 Abu Dhabi World Games, 2022 Unified Cup, 2023 Berlin World Games, and 2025 World Winter Games in Turin. In partnership with SOI, Lisa will be seconded to the USA Games, continuing her SOI role through the Turin 2025 World Games and returning after the USA Games concludes in June 2026. Lisa’s background also includes significant roles at the Citi Open Tennis Tournament and the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC as well as management of the 2016 NFL Draft and 2018 MLB All-Star Volunteer Programs. Lisa has attended four Olympic Games, supporting the Master’s Program at The George Washington University where she is a graduate of their Sport Management Program. "Lisa’s impressive track record in handling large-scale events and VIP programs at Special Olympics International brings immense value to our team," stated Mary Horwath, Chief Marketing Officer for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. We’re honored to present the newest member of our Board of Directors, Todd M. Johnson! Todd is a seasoned public policy and government relations expert with over two decades of experience spanning healthcare, environmental regulation, and economic development. As Executive Director of the National Sports Center and the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission, Todd is committed to enhancing community access to sports and physical activity. His career also includes significant roles, such as Legislative Director for the Minnesota Department of Health, faculty at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, and Vice President of Government Relations at Allina Health. Todd holds a BA in Government & International Relations from Hamline University and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Minnesota, with additional studies at Oxford University. As a premier hub for the upcoming 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, Todd will lead National Sports Center’s successful sport operations for flag football, golf, soccer, softball, and–a first for any USA Games–pickleball. His hope is that every athlete and guest enjoys an unforgettable experience, building memories that last a lifetime. Please join us in welcoming Calle Garneau, Operations Manager for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games! As Operations Manager, Calle will support several critical operational areas, including transportation, emergency operations, medical services, and logistics. Her role will ensure that each facet of the Games runs smoothly, focusing on delivering a seamless and safe experience for all athletes, volunteers, and attendees. With a degree in Sport and Recreation Management and a master’s in Sport Business from Temple University, Calle brings a strong background in event management and logistics to the 2026 USA Games. Her experience includes key roles in the execution of the Anacostia River Festival, the National Cherry Blossom Festival’s Blossom Kite Festival, Petalpalooza, and Parade.
