关于我们

What if the answers to your art business questions were only a friend-of-a-friend away? That’s the heart of our 2° Art Community—a network of abundance-minded artists eager to support each other’s journeys. I’m Jennifer Vigil, and from my days as an art historian and curator to my work as a business strategist and artist, I’ve learned that we don’t have to do it alone. Who We Are Our free 2° Art Community is designed for artists at all stages who want to build sustainable, profitable, and joyful careers. I’ve seen countless creative spirits struggle with the isolating nature of the art world, believing they must juggle teaching, producing, and marketing on their own. But in reality, successful artists leverage relationships, opportunities, and each other. That’s exactly what we cultivate here: a space for collaboration, encouragement, and the sharing of resources—from ideas about grants and exhibitions to practical advice on improving your art practice. What We Offer Inside our Artist Launch Pad, you’ll find a library of tips, tutorials, and introductions to potential collaborators—freelancers, assistants, or fellow creators—so you can focus on what truly matters: making your art and teaching with passion. Everything we do is about fostering connection through 2 degrees of separation; you’re never more than a friend-of-a-friend away from the insight or resource you need. Why It Matters I’m committed to challenging the myth that artists must toil away in isolation or limit their dreams. Together, we thrive by harnessing each other’s knowledge and experiences, building art businesses that honor our creativity and our need for real-world success. Ready to Join Us? • “What if you discovered that the seemingly separate pieces of your journey were actually puzzle pieces, ready to fit together into a bigger, more creative life?” Hello, I’m Jennifer Vigil—artist, art historian, curator, writer, and business strategist, all rolled into one (who knew it was possible?). For years, I believed I had to pick a single lane in the art world, but discovered that what truly fulfills me is embracing all of these passions and helping others do the same. When I finally stepped away from the myths about what an artist “should” be, my career felt aligned, authentic, and more exciting than ever. I want to see a more inclusive, dynamic art landscape where every artist can define success on their own terms—without sacrificing financial stability or creative authenticity. I firmly believe in the power of community, which is why I launched the 2° Art Community. It’s a free space dedicated to connecting artists, sharing resources, and helping one another thrive. In this network, we harness the abundance principle: there are enough ideas, opportunities, and possibilities for all of us. By pooling our knowledge and supporting each other’s vision, we collectively grow stronger. In this space, we talk about things like finding your voice, telling your story with confidence, and shaping a business strategy that works for you. Because I believe, wholeheartedly, that art is a language—one that speaks to our souls, brings people closer, and can truly transform lives when nurtured with the right tools. Ready to connect with a community that understands your dreams and supports your vision? Come join my free 2° Art Community, where we break down the myths about success, share what really works, and lift each other up as both artists and entrepreneurs. • Reflections, the Solstice, and Being True to Yourself The winter solstice has always held a special meaning for me. Its short day & long, dark night invite rest, reflection, & the opportunity to slow down. This year, as I contemplated the solstice, I kept coming back to a quote by Richard Bach: "Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself." It’s a beautiful idea, but one that’s easier said than done. I found myself asking, Am I truly living the life I want? Am I being the version of myself I aspire to be? This reflection wasn’t born of any particular life stage, though challenges—like a bike accident and years of navigating insurance battles—have shaped my focus. Rather, it was a realization that even as I’ve worked to break free of traditional gender roles and societal expectations, I’ve still compromised in ways that left parts of my true self untapped. 2024 was a pivotal year. It taught me the importance of dreaming big, thinking expansively, & getting off the metaphorical fence to commit fully to my goals and dreams. I took risks, like creating an impromptu artist residency in Santa Fe that transformed my body of work. I prioritized friendships, completed exciting projects (hello, Notion for Artists templates, & the 2° Art Community), and leaned into the support of my art community. But this isn’t a one-and-done process. Being true to yourself requires daily commitment. It’s about choosing your dreams, even on the hard days. It’s about surrounding yourself with people who remind you who you are and why your goals matter. As the solstice marks the turning point toward longer, brighter days, I feel energized to dream for the future. For 2025, I’m pushing myself to think more expansively, to consider my impact, and to align my priorities with the life I envision in five years. I’m excited to bring this reflective process to others through a series of workshops in January: January 10: Create your artist vision through three vision boards. 1) What do you want your impact to be (life/ legacy)? 2) What do you want you career to be? 3) What is your vision for 2025? What are your goals? What do you desire and want to bring to life personally and professionally as an artist/ art instructor? January 11: Train AI to help you run your art business efficiently while sounding like you. January 12-13: Plan your year and Q1 content marketing strategy with tools and AI. Mark your calendars! Registration opens soon ?? Each workshop is designed to empower you to be true to yourself and your vision for the future. Here’s to embracing our dreams, expanding our vision, & stepping confidently into the year ahead. What does being true to yourself mean for you? How do you balance dreaming big with day-to-day commitments? Let’s start a conversation—I’d love to hear your thoughts. #ArtCommunity #CreativeJourney #DreamBig2025 #ArtistGoals #ArtBusinessPlanning #ArtistWorkshops #ExpandYourVision #visionboard #visionboards #goalsetting

  • Unlock Creative Inspiration When You Travel: Embracing the Flaneur Mindset How to Travel Like an Artist As an artist, travel isn’t just about reaching a destination—it’s about discovering inspiration in the unexpected. To truly tap into the creativity that travel can offer, consider embracing the mindset of a flaneur. What is a flaneur? A flaneur is someone who wanders without a set destination, observing their surroundings with curiosity and an open mind. It’s about taking your time to notice the details, appreciating the textures, colors, and patterns of a place, and letting discovery—not productivity—be the goal. When you travel as a flaneur, inspiration can be found everywhere. I have found inspiration from: ? The unique fonts on storefront signs. ? A fascinating wall texture aged by time. ? The shadows cast by trees, buildings, or streetlights. ? Street art tucked into corners or vibrant patterns in unexpected places. How to Travel Like an Artist: Take your time. Be present and engage all your senses. Listen to the rhythm of a city, feel the warmth of sunlight on a stone facade, and observe the interplay of light and shadow. Don't plan the journey. Just pick a direction or neighborhood and wander. Walk slowly. Look everywhere. Don't be in a hurry. Enjoy the journey, and don't worry about ending up anywhere. Carry a sketchbook or notebook. Use it to capture quick sketches, jot down thoughts, or even write snippets of ideas sparked by your observations. Take photos mindfully. While snapping photos is useful, spend more time looking at the world through your eyes, not just the lens. Explore without a plan. Let your feet and curiosity guide you. Sometimes, the most creative inspiration comes when you’re not searching for it. If you find a cafe with outdoor seating, stop and enjoy a snack and beverage. Take time to observe everything around you--the people, the logo on the napkin, the sugar packaging, the people walking by, the architecture of the buildings around you, etc. Traveling like this encourages deeper observation, fostering a mindset that’s rich with creative possibility. It’s not about producing immediate results but collecting impressions that may shape your work for years to come. Discovery is the goal. What you observe during your journey might spark a new project, give context to a theme you’ve been exploring, or simply offer a fresh perspective. How do you find inspiration when you travel? Have you ever embraced the practice of wandering like a flaneur? Let’s discuss! #TravelLikeAnArtist #CreativeInspiration #FlaneurMindset #ArtistsWhoTravel #CreativeExploration #MindfulTravel #InspirationEverywhere #ArtisticProcess #ObservationSkills #WanderAndCreate #TravelAsArt
