Today, the Women’s ERG at 1upHealth hosted a panel featuring some of the company’s amazing female leaders who took time out of their busy days to share their experiences navigating the workforce. They fielded a number of questions, including: ?? What are some of the challenges and opportunities you’ve faced in your career? ?? Over the course of your career, what’s the best advice you’ve received, and what’s the worst? ?? Do you have mentors and how would you recommend finding one? ?? Some standout advice overheard at the event: “If you are 100% qualified for a job, you’ve probably waited too long to apply.” “Building a broad community of support is extremely important. Peers can also make great mentors.” “Self-advocacy is as important as working hard.” “Speak up even if your voice shakes.” “Don’t dwell on failure. Orient towards learning and growth. Let that be your North Star.” “You can’t control how everyone perceives you, but you can control how you show up.” “Lift as you climb. Success isn’t 100% personal. Create opportunities for others.” “As leaders, we have to go the extra step to identify when someone might be suffering from ‘imposter syndrome’ and help them see they're ready.” Special thanks to all the leaders that participated, including Stephanie Iheme, Eden Avraham-Katz, Anagha Prasad, Emily Larsen, Jodi Patton, MBA, MPA-HA, and all the team members who showed up to take part! #leadership #mentors #careeradvice #womenleaders #ERG

?? Success in value-based care hinges on one critical factor: timely, high-quality data. Yet most healthcare organizations struggle with fragmented information trapped in non-standard formats from disparate sources and highly manual processes. Many risk-bearing provider organizations don’t know an immense digital transformation is underway for provider-payer data exchange workflows. Our newest blog highlights the 4 benefits of near real-time claims data exchange in value-based care: 1?? Improved Patient Care 2?? Reduced Risk 3?? Controlled Costs 4?? Increased Efficiency Read the blog to learn more. Link in comments. ???? #ACO #VBC #healthcaredata

If you missed HIMSS this year, check out this recent article in Modern Healthcare by digital health reporter Brock E.W. Turner, where he covers his 5 key takeaways from the event.?? 1upHealth Chief Strategy Officer and former head of the ONC Donald Rucker was quoted in the section on interoperability. Don said in part, “TEFCA is designed to not actually allow digital competition. It’s designed to not allow new entrants to get at data seamlessly and individual data fields. It’s designed so that brokers and legacy vendors can basically hide it between all these statements of purposes, exchange uses and everything but modern permissions." Read more of what Don had to say, along with Brock’s other takeaways in the article below.??? (Link in comments, subscription required) #TEFCA #interoperability #HIMSS25
I'm back from a busy week at HIMSS in Vegas. Many vendors were talking about AI agents, but few mentioned how much work is required to create the data infrastructure for them to operate. It will be very interesting to see whether payers and providers adopt them. Also, the lack of government participation was hard to ignore and spilled out into conversations I had during happy hours and off-site events. Read my full recap in Modern Healthcare today. Also, if you were on-site drop me your biggest takeaway in the comments.

Earlier this week, Steven Posnack was tapped to lead HHS' health IT arm as acting assistant secretary of technology policy. 1upHealth Chief Strategy Officer Donald Rucker, who served as national coordinator of health IT under the first Trump administration, commended the appointment, as reported by Fierce Healthcare: "I appointed Steve as deputy national coordinator and have a very high opinion of his knowledge of informatics and policy. I think he will do a very pro-public job as acting national coordinator as the Trump administration puts its political appointees in place to manage digital interoperability." ??
