Let's talk for a minute about the boxes we put ourselves in and the boxes other people put us in ?? and curiosity? ?? As women, so often we are led to believe that we are limited to the boxes we put ourselves in — the boxes of "I'm JUST a..." or "I don't think I could ever...", and the boxes that other people put us in -- or "She's only ..." or "She's nice and all but she can't ..." ?? When we allow ourselves to be contained or conform to these boxes, we limit our infinite potential! And when we put others in boxes, we limit them and their potential. Curiosity is powerful and I believe that when we are curious about other people's stories and perspectives, we start to get curious about our own stories and potential. That's so much of what I'm trying to encourage through 1 Girl Revolution — that when we make space to hear the authentic stories of other women and girls, not only do we get to know them for who they truly are, their stories also have the power to spark something within each of us, to inspire us to be who we were made to be, and to do something amazing with this one life we get to live! ?? So this is my little reminder to you today to STAY CURIOUS and refuse to put yourself in a box of limitations. And don't put others in boxes. Many veterans face a heartbreaking reality after service: the feeling of being forgotten or unwanted and lacking support and resources. This leads many to loneliness, thoughts of suicide, or death by suicide. None of our heroes should ever feel that they're alone or forgotten. We need to make sure our heroes feel the love and support that they deserve.
