Join us TOMORROW at 12:30 P.M. as Abigail Lane, the Director of Near Eastside Initiatives for Englewood Community Development Corporation in Indianapolis will be presenting a speech on Transforming a Neighborhood through Housing for Marginalized Populations for September's First Friday! ?? Abigail Lane is the Director of Near Eastside Initiatives for Englewood Community Development Corporation in Indianapolis and has been part of the organization since 2017. Abigail graduated with her Bachelors of Urban Planning and Development from Ball State University in 2016 and her Masters of Urban and Regional Planning from Ball State University in 2017. Since being at Englewood CDC, Abigail has helped facilitate roughly $100 million of development in adaptive reuse projects, historic renovations and new construction consisting of education facilities, economic development/job creation and affordable housing projects working with a myriad of partners and funding sources at the Federal, State, and Local levels. As a part of Englewood CDC, Abigail leads many of the development projects and programmatic work Englewood pursues to benefit low-income neighbors, marginalized populations, and those without access to resources to incorporate them into the community and provide access to basic needs for families. Englewood CDC is part of a number of comprehensive community development initiatives including the IndyEast Promise Zone, Great Places 2020 Initiative, East Washington Street Partnership, East10 Art + Design District, Near Eastside Quality of Life Plan, Thrive Indianapolis Plan, and more that guide their work on a daily basis.
