?? Did you know that 66%?of businesswomen lack formal mentoring programs? If you or someone you know is struggling with career growth, see how mentorship can make a difference! ?? Yesterday, I had the pleasure of supporting OBJ’s #MentoringMonday event, where businesswomen gathered to foster connections and gain insights from accomplished mentors. This unique event, held simultaneously in every American City Business Journals market in the nation, aims to empower biz-women through mentorship. Following the networking and mentoring portion, there was an incredible panel featuring: -Dr. Shanta Barton-Stubbs, Owner, New Image Youth Center, Inc -Melanie DiVirgilio, SVP and Commercial Banking, Seacoast Bank -Jennifer Lastik, COO, Greater Orlando Sports Commission -Cassandra Willard, Esq., Director, Blackstone LaunchPad at UCF ??? For those who could not attend the event, read more about the importance of mentorship and the numbers that support unique events like this (link in comments, and a few snippets from our print publication in photos). Thank you to all of our mentors who participated in sharing their secrets to success and guidance, including the Orlando Business Journal's own: Anne-Marie Hayward, Susan Lundine, and Sarah Kinbar. Last but not least, a tremendous THANK YOU to our sponsors for your support: -Southwest Airlines (National Sponsor) -Valley Bank (Presenting) -Greenberg Traurig, LLP (Presenting) -Smart City Telecom (Registration Sponsor) ?? A great day to emphasize the importance of leadership, service, and collaboration. We extend our sincere gratitude to #USGBC USGBC-Central FL: LEED for Homes hosting the #ADAPT South East Regional Conference in Orlando. This provided an invaluable opportunity to showcase the exemplary collaborations of many throughout?our region; one being between partners in #Orlando, all working towards accelerating energy efficiency, quality of life, and community empowerment. We would like to specifically highlight Ashley Perez and Michael Hess from the City of Orlando, Anna Ashie from the Homeless Services Network of Central Florida, and 4Roots for their outstanding work and commitment to vulnerable?populations within the city beautiful. Specifically kudos to our very own Isaiah Anderson for his dedication to the 15 lightyears?Foundation mission and work. Together, they all?exemplify what can be achieved through collaboration and service. It is a sobering thought that many members of our community are just $10 away from experiencing homelessness. A single power bill, water bill, or sick day can have a devastating impact on an individual or family. Through a sharing of resources, assets, man power and solar power; we have been able to explore ways to mitigate these challenges by reducing utility bills, embracing solar power, installing energy efficient ac's and adopting sustainable practices. Thank you to everyone involved for fostering innovation and unity, and for accelerating the positive impact on the quality of life for vulnerable individuals in #Orlando #sustainability #energy #solar #GSCxADAPT?

Combined efforts of 15 lightyears and City of Orlando allowed for some of the community to rest a little bit easier in September and the near future. With donations from the city and 4Roots providing portable solar panels, generators, water heaters and Window AC units in the Parramore area, I had the opportunity to lead efforts in installation with the help of our awesome team to ensure the utmost satisfaction. A bonus was that I got to work with such great people and even more to meet District 5 commissioner Shaniqua “Shan” Rose! This was only the beginning and we will be driving efforts forward to ensure the community is (as one resident quoted) “prepared for the future” #jobsnotfinished
