?? Great news from IMOCA at the 2024 Vendée Globe! This year, 25 skippers from the fleet will equip their boats with advanced measurement instruments, turning the race into a 'floating scientific station' as they navigate around the globe. ?? These instruments will collect invaluable data, especially from under-sampled regions like the Southern Ocean, helping to enhance weather forecasting services and providing essential insights for scientists studying climate change. This unique collaboration between sport and science showcases how sailing can contribute to our understanding of the ocean ? ?? #oceanscience #citizenscience

Local youth, motivated by their love for #baseball and the leadership of hometown hero Ismael Diaz-Tolentino, are discovering new ways to care for their natural surroundings. In the Dominican Republic, baseball isn’t just a sport—it’s a way of life. But as the game thrives, rapid development threatens the country’s mangroves, which play a vital role in the ecosystem. In "Operation Restoration: Roots," we meet Ismael Diaz-Tolentino, an ecologist and Seacology’s Mangroves & Sports Program Coordinator. He leads the “Play for the Mangroves” initiative that merges conservation with the nation’s love for baseball to inspire environmental stewardship and restore balance to the natural world. ????
