Trump’s latest memorandum threatens Indigenous communities, waterways, and California’s economy. On his first day in office, Trump signed Putting People Over Fish, a policy prioritizing water diversions that could devastate salmon populations, exacerbate pollution, and harm Northern California’s economy. Indigenous communities and environmental experts warn that this policy ignores science, worsens existing water crises, and disregards Tribal sovereignty.
