Applied Neuroscientist ?? Independent Researcher, Neuro-Psychotherapy, Coaching Psychology, Entrepreneur
We at Applied Neuroscience Association are inspired by The 10,000 Brains Project to expedite the early adoption of AI in combatting neurodegenerative diseases. Led by CEO Patrick Brannelly this philanthropic initiative is empowering the medical research ecosystem to bridge the gap between the lab and real-world settings by catalysing highest impact initiatives to accelerate innovation for unmet needs. Unmet needs in medical research include insufficient understanding of certain diseases, challenges in early detection, gaps in treatment options, inequity in treatment, and a need for more personalised and targeted therapies. The 10,000 Brains Project is ultimately improving patient outcomes and through shared outcomes and interdisciplinary collaboration across the oceans, the lives of you and me! Bravo!! ????

A surprise guest joined us at Advances in AI, Neuro and Ethics in Dementia and Brain Health Patrick Brannelly is the CEO of The 10,000 Brains Project, former Director of Partnerships for the Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative at Gates Ventures and (perhaps best of all) he is also a fellow alumni of the MSc in Applied Neuroscience from Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King's College London. When I discovered his name on our list of attendees I was a little surprised since he lives in California. Remarkably, he decided to fly over to attend the event and happily he agreed to do a brief introduction to his remarkable new venture. I highly recommend that anyone working in #alzheimers #neurologicaldisorders #brainhealth and related conditions take a look at the website for The 10,000 Brains Project and look out for upcoming opportunities to partner or collaborate with them. https://lnkd.in/eNEg6i7F Patrick it was a pleasure to meet you in person and to hear more about the work you're doing. Thank you so much for coming all this way and for sharing this innovative way to accelerate treatments for neurological disease using AI and experts in funding and support at the Applied Neuroscience Association event. Treesje Verlinden and I could not have been more pleased at how enthusiastic everyone was to engage. Huge thanks to all those who spoke at our event , Dominika Bedran Lewis Hotchkiss Christian Suojanen Charlotte (Charly) Massey and Pawe? ?wieboda who very kindly travelled over from Brussels just for the day in order to give our Keynote. Enormous thanks to Brenda Williams and Gisele Dias who developed such insightful, engaging and applicable neuroscience education within the world-renowned IoPPN, and to Anja Harrison (Fischer) for helping us to spread research out of the peer reviewed journals through The Collaborative Library and our upcoming science communication event with Hedi Young. Links in comments! Thank you to Amanda Borgerhoff and Mark O'Brien at Warman O'Brien and Christian Suojanen from Broadreach Global for partnering with us on this event. Many thanks as ever to Julie Devonshire OBE Holly Knower ???? Dr. Yotam Levy and colleagues at King's Entrepreneurship Institute for all your support in hosting the ANA and our event. King's College London And enormous thanks to all those members of Applied Neuroscience Association, our wider network, and those who came to find out more. Some travelled enormous distances despite train strikes ( Amanda Borgerhoff thank you ) and Felipe A. T. one of our newest members flew over from Brazil! International Conference indeed! I am so grateful for the shared enthusiasm for applying neuroscience for social impact. Louise Spurgeon Vanessa Maugey . MSc. GMBPsS. FRSA Sheela Upadhyaya and so many others ...

AI is a powerful technology that can enable new breakthroughs in neurodegeneration research. At the same time, it presents a range of important ethical issues, including the potential for bias and data privacy risks. We believe these issues cannot be treated as an afterthought. That’s why the first public presentation of our CEO was at a conference focused on the ethics of AI in dementia research. These issues are managable through thoughtful, inclusive dialogue.
