In August we showcased Splitgate 2 at Gamescom with the help of an amazing partner in production company FGPG. As a game rated 16+, we're not allowed to show gameplay or be playable to the general public. While many other games chose to create a "big box" around their 16+ booth, we chose a different path. We created an engagement section, having people get a first touch with the Splitgate brand with approachable, arcade-style games themed to our three playable factions. Rather than hire cosplayers, we leveraged our partnership with PLASTIC WAX to provide six life-sized animated characters given lifelike fidelity with 2 meter high monitors beside each activation. These in-world characters "interacted" with the crowd and encouraged people to engage in each activation. For those 16+, we had a play arena that was viewable to the public, but with the game monitors not facing the crowd. Our booth was at capacity for gameplay and all four light-touch activations every day. It was an amazing success and a great first step in introducing more gamers to the Splitgate brand. Special shoutout to Capcom, who advertised Monster Hunter Wilds in the train station, on Opening Night Live, and in the halls of Koelnmesse. Today, we announced our next project, Splitgate 2. When we decided to end development on the original Splitgate, it was with the intent of resetting and delivering a AAA first-person shooter. We believe we will do that in 2025. Our journey together begins with a killer cinematic trailer that’s filled with reveals about Splitgate 2. The free companion app gives players a way to delve deeper into the Splitgate universe. Last week we celebrated the Splitgate community with our live Splitty Awards show. The community nominated and voted in six categories, walking away with some pretty cool trophies.
