Her Power Summit , hosted by Foreign Policy (FP), alongside UN CSW69, brought together policymakers, innovators, and business leaders to discuss gender equity across key sectors, including women’s roles in peace and security and innovative financing mechanisms for women-led initiatives. ?We were delighted to join a distinguished line up of guests speakers including Honourable Chrystia Freeland Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Canada and Tonni Brodber , Head of Secretariat, United Nations Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund. ?Notably, our founder Dr. Anino Emuwa, Managing Director, Avandis Consulting participated in ‘Power of the Purse: The Impact and Urgency of Investing in Women-Led Initiatives’, with visionary leader Happy Mwende K. Director, Mama Cash, moderated by Allison Carlson ??Less than 1% of global philanthropic funding goes to women’s organizations and only 1% of venture capital funding is allocated to women-led businesses, which highlights a significant funding disparity in entrepreneurship. The session emphasized not only the urgent need for investment in women-led initiatives but shared insights and also proposed solutions. ??A massive wealth transfer is happening, with $30 trillion expected to be in the hands of women within the next 20 years. This wealth, whether through intergenerational transfer or earnings, is a significant source of power for women. ??Women control a significant share of consumer spending, which demonstrates the need to direct investments into women-led initiatives. ??Women’s increasing education and financial independence, which enhances their influence in decision-making. ??Women in leadership roles in philanthropy are more likely to support socially-driven initiatives and social impact projects, underscoring the importance of their involvement in shaping funding priorities. ??Women’s movements, despite limited financial support, have historically driven major policy changes. ?This event spotlighted the impact of the financial gender gap and the importance of targeted investment in accelerating the growth of women-led businesses worldwide. There is a real necessity of strategic collaboration and financial mobilization to sustain progress. Advancing these efforts is essential for driving sustainable, transformative change for women, girls, and broader economic development. ??Congratulations to FP and its senior executives including : Andrew Sollinger & Publisher, Allison Carlson Vice President, Diana Marrero Partnerships Officer and Afua Osei , Director of Strategic Partnerships. #InclusiveLeadership #WomenLeaders #CSW69

Leadership isn’t just about climbing the ladder. it’s about reaching back to pull others up. Research shows that women who belong to leadership and mentorship networks are more likely to advance in their careers, gain access to new opportunities, and build the influence needed to drive real change. ??A Harvard Business Review study found that women with a close-knit circle of mentors and sponsors are 2.5 times more likely to secure leadership positions. ?? McKinsey & Company also highlights that mentorship and visibility within leadership networks significantly impact career progression. If you’re a woman aspiring to lead, seek out mentors. If you’re already in leadership, become one. The future of women’s leadership depends on the strength of our networks. Tag a mentor who has shaped your journey! ?? ____________________________ To join or learn more about our community, kindly fill out our interest form >>>> https://lnkd.in/dypbQfDi #100WomenDavos #WomenInLeadership #MentorshipMatters
