Sworn in on January 9, 2023, Senator Esteves has been a powerful advocate for public education, healthcare, housing, and economic opportunities for all. Before his tenure as senator, Jason Esteves made history as the first Latino elected to the Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education, where he served as Board Chair. His leadership was also pivotal during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring that APS could provide hundreds of thousands of meals, laptops, and internet hotspots to students in need, adhering to rigorous scientific guidance. As Vice Chair of Finance and a key member of the Senate Democratic Caucus, Senator Esteves continues his advocacy on Senate Committees like Children and Families, and Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, striving for equity and justice across all sectors. Outside the legislative chamber, Jason is a partner at Hudson Cook LLP, offering expert advice on regulatory, privacy, and data security matters.
