Sometimes a mistake is only a mistake in hindsight. You can make the best decision you can, given the evidence at hand and lived experience. But it's still the wrong decision. Don't fault yourself unnecessarily, sometimes you don't have all of the information, or the view points at hand prior to important decisions. And it only becomes apparent after the decision is made.
