As a scientist, we put a lot of time in getting things working and this effort we mostly fail to claim. Therefore, it is essential that we keep a documentation of all this. This will demonstrate your passion towards the work.

Actually, either in business or in quality if you fail documenting your achievements there is not facts only opinions, as subjective as that might sounds. So planed, do it , measure it and if it works put it on paper, make it visible, so your efforts contribute to materialize the knowledge and to progress accountability.

Certainly, the fastest way to achieve the expected recognition is for the accomplishments obtained in our management to significantly impact at least one of the corporate objectives set by the company in its strategic planning. In my experience what i found useful is what i simply called “letting peers, managers and other networks know what you are up to” This does not only challenge you to achieve but also creates an obligation to your peers and managers to ask the question “how far?” further down the line. In that way managers have an audit trail of what you have been doing too! Performance appraisal meetings will not be intimidating too if you are used to updating your managers about your goals and progress in achieving those goals
