Algo común en los equipos es caer en el error de llenarse de herramientas para gestionar el trabajo remoto, esto con la excusa de aumentar la productividad, medir tiempos y llegar incluso a un micromanagement. Esto va totalmente en contra vía de una cultura de trabajo remoto. Por experiencia manejando equipos de forma remota sé que con un par de herramientas es suficiente, además de tener una cultura clara enfocada en la autonomía y confianza del equipo.

De eso trata el trabajo remoto y la flexibilidad debe darse desde los líderes, darle al equipo la libertad para tener una vida fuera del trabajo y la seguridad de tener un empleo. Es obvio que se deben tener unas reglas de juego claras, momentos de conexión, espacios recurrentes para reuniones y momentos de integración para evitar perden la "humanidad" en el grupo.

El trabajo remoto llegó para quedarse y es algo que pocos están dispuestos a negociar. Al liderar equipos remotos se debe cambiar tanto como sea posible el paradigma de cumplir un horario por el de cumplir metas y objetivos. Realmente no importa qué haga el equipo o a qué hora, lo importante es que los objetivos se cumplan dentro de los plazos establecidos, esto permite a cada miembro del equipo autogestionarse para ser productivo cuando sabe que puede ser productivo. Esto simplemente se traduce en calidad de vida dentro del trabajo y se verá reflejado en la moral, ánimo y actitud de cada persona.
