Surely though if you have gotten the job you will already have the software or the skill to do the job? I apply for entry level draught jobs as my skill in draughts is low, but in CAD sculpting for toys and miniatures I go for mid range and higher because I know the software and I know how to use it efficiently as I have put the time in. Yeah you should do this. Though the more artistic ones will just throw digital clay and make things that look amazing without thinking about it. I know it depends on what I am working on to what path I take.

You can't have premade models for everything and while this is a great idea you can end up spending time creating things for things that might never happen, likewise you may never make another one and so why did you waste the time creating the bit you need? It's a bit of a catch 22. I do find I will create hands holding different things and then use them for different models when working on gaming miniatures. And I have one blank head that is my default for sizing.

I will throw models into slicers half way through sculpting I will randomly print parts as I work along. I am always turning the model as I build up or slice down through the process.
