In one of my roles, I managed a program that spanned a few years. This was a huge program with several moving parts and team members. But it never got tedious because I always found ways to remind all of us of how far we'd come as a team. Every other team meeting, I'd review what we'd accomplished during the week, where we were a month ago, and how much effort was left, kind of like a countdown. A large project feels tedious when the team is disconnected, but when you pull everyone together regularly and remind them of how far you've all come because of your combined efforts, it puts a smile on everyone's face. No matter where you are in a process, looking ahead is less daunting when you've already thought about how far you've come.
