In my opinion Identifying a mentor involves finding someone with relevant expertise, experience, and a willingness to guide and support you in your personal or professional growth. *Look for someone whom you respect, admire, and can learn from, who shares your values and goals. *They should be approachable at least within 24 hours, willing to invest time in your development and achieving your goals, and able to provide constructive feedback and continuous guidance at all stages . *Networking with peers, joining other industrial associations or any other professional organisations, and referrals from colleagues or friends can be helpful in finding potential mentors.

Do your research, agronomically know your numbers, hectares to yield ratio, etc, depending on the crop know your downstream needs, i.e post harvest, aggregation, costs in the market. A good mentor will be an even better mentor the more you are informed about what you want to do. Put in the work up front to have a very solid understanding of your business model (this can also be daunting and require mentorship), but demonstrate the work and acumen that you build up yourself and that will create the environment for people with more experience to help.
