Common metrics include social impact, which assesses how your innovation improves the lives of people; environmental impact, which considers how your innovation affects natural resources and ecosystems; economic impact, which evaluates the contribution to sectors and regions; and legal and ethical impact, which examines compliance with laws and regulations. To use impact metrics effectively, you must define your vision and mission, identify stakeholders and their interests, evaluate outcomes and trade-offs, and communicate your impact story.
