1 Cyber Basics

To secure smart grids, your electrical engineering team must first grasp the cyber basics. This includes understanding the architecture of smart grids and how they communicate. Cyber security in #smart_grids is another application of this world, but previous to start it, its really importance to understand about the basis of IT world due to that we have holes in OT and IT, that's the reason why, I usually suggest study things like #protocols(#TCP,#UDP,#HTTP,#HTTPS) also #encryption by using 1 or 2 keys for encrypt the data, #firewalls is another relevant topic, and in my opinion, #linux and #O.S. because is needed to know about how the attacker can get in access in the system, also keep in mind the 3 principles, #Availability, #Confidentiality, #Reliability, for having a basic idea of this world

The first part of any secure network is a clear understanding of who has access to what systems. Draw simple systems diagrams to identify all the vulnerabilities and points of failure. By default, most secure networks have a "reject all" clause. Curate specific equipment lists at are allowed to access the network prior to installation.

In whatever system that you interact always are potential risk, but there are many ways to understand it and be able to follow it, one of them is by reading the #red_hat, in the case of system which has interaction with internet, you have to follow the suggestion done by #OWASP, also is important to have the latest version in the programs
