Start with basics such as determining the nature of the event - are you promoting a corporate event such as Charity Golf, Business Networking Golf, Product Showcase, or more personal events such as a Birthday Bash or a Bachelorette Day at the course? You can find 1001 reasons to play golf, but golfers only need 1 and they are set to go. Work on a simple attractive idea and plan around that.

You need to have a clear understanding of what you want to offer to your potential clients, what they are requesting and your identity as an organizer, blending all of that together into a product that can be both enjoyable, doable and profitable at the same time.

When interacting with our members, I've seen firsthand how crucial it is to tailor our event schedule to their interests and needs. After all, our members are what truly matter, and when they see that we are willing to accommodate them, they will become more engaged and enthusiastic participants. One of my favorite instances of this was the events we organized focused on clarity. The positive feedback we received highlighted the value of aligning our events with what our members are looking for. Additionally, let’s not forget about keeping the kids involved. First you need to understand the general demographic of the golf course. Is this a public course? Is it a membership only? Your marketing and efforts should be tailored in a way to engage and interact with that demographic. You will be promoting during their leisure time or business time. So keep in mind that this is a form of disturbance marketing. So instead of interrupting and disturbing their environment and experience, look for ways to elevate it and provide entertainment and value.

This is good advice. Everything about the message is that this is a wonderful event and worthy of your time. And that you would attend if possible.

On top of emails, social media and newsletter - utilise your client database by blasting a message about your event through instant messaging apps can help too. Also having a printed poster placed at the golf club noticeboard where the event will be held can encourage registrations. Frequent welcoming messages and sign-up reminders can build a buzz around the event.

We need to understand that promoting a golf event is going to have a big age demographic for a target market, as a result we need to blend both more traditional marketing tactics along with modern ones in order to attract the attention of our full market... stuff such as regular emailing and posters applies to the older members while pop-ups and big ads on the home page or apps apply to younger audiences

I agree with training the staffs to speak up to promote about upcoming events. Either as a closing remark at the counter, during early course briefing, or find a way to slide the topic into conversation without sounding too sale-sy.

The staff when it comes to events can become a double-edged sword, since it can act both in favor and as a detriment to the event. I remember an event I worked at were the team was clearly not having it that day and the atmosphere was dreadful, so not only do we have to consider the upside of this aspect but also the potential downside of not having our staff properly engaged in the overall experience

Though some golf events tend to keep their merchandise incentives as a surprise, it helps to promote previous gifts to build a hype for upcoming event. Perhaps incentives in the form of awards for various ingenious categories could be marketed to increase participation. Golfers like to have fun and are generally in good sporting spirit.

We actually had a policy of talking to our most frequent clients and offering them a commercial promotion under which if they brought 3 people along with them they were playing for free and if they brought 7+ they would make a percentage off of the sale, this encouraged our loyal customers to come with big parties and it granted us more tickets sold, si it ended up being a win/win situation
