Don't be afraid to ask for mentorship and use constructive criticism to your advantage. Remember, there's always more to learn and room to improve.

If you aren't sure where to start with this, try reading source-code from experienced co-workers. Once you start understanding their code, you will form good/better questions to ask. Be careful how you word your questions. eg. "I found your code interesting. Why did you choose this approach/design vs another?" (be prepared for a possible non-answer). Programmers are sometimes guarded & defensive about their work. Whatever the answer, you can build a better relationship if you are polite & gracious. "Ah, that makes sense! Thank you for explaining it. I learned a lot from you today". Your next question will be well-received.

Study using PluralSight to boost your skills. Greater Skills = Greater Confidence. Different people learn from different experiences and personally, i learn from watching videos where I can rewind and follow along so i teach my mind and my fingers. Doing projects in a test environment is the best solution to learning and being confident.

That's a great suggestion! I've been hesitant to take on new challenges, but I can see how it would help me build my confidence. One important thing you should've learned from college was the pattern: Get a book. Read a chapter. Do relevant homework to show you can apply the knowledge. (which means you need to invent your own homework assignments now). Discuss your findings/challenges/observations with others who are learning the same material. Make this into an evening class that you do by yourself. Set a goal, steps, pace and a schedule. Earn yourself an A. Repeat.
