One thing I’ve found helpful is collaboration. Sending an email with a large amount of tasks and not having the willingness to break it down with those working on tasks, is just chaos. Creates more rework, ultimately leading to a toxic work environment. Folks feel as if goals aren’t being met, the work they’re doing isn’t good enough, and they don’t add value. Be clear and concise, set your team up for success!

Communicating with stakeholders to understand their preferences and deadlines is very crucial. The level of importance of each task is always different in various scenarios. It’s important to understand what stakeholders need by asking the right questions to gain focus.

Be active. Engage. Be ready to do the work. Getting feedback should never feel like a bad thing, shift the perspective to a growth mindset. Work is fluid, as a leader, show your team how to adapt to feedback and keep moving forward.

Be open with your communication. Create clear goals and align the roles of your team to fit those goals, by utilizing each persons strength. The final stretch is always the hardest, don’t become so focused on the work and accomplishing the goal, that you forget there are real people right next to you. Working alongside you.
