It’s quite a challenge to address weaknesses in the Resume but you cannot do away with it, you need to handle with them care like deal with proper reasoning and genuinely, especially for Employment Gaps, Overcoming Lack of Advanced Education & Lack of Technical Skills or Lack of Experience in a desired Field, Job Hopping Circumstances, Inadequate Leadership Experience.

Moreover, think of having a primary Master document to which you add every project you've ever worked on, every achievement you've gathered, ever solution you've created and put as much detail as you can into each of those items. When you need to build the document that you will send as an application, you can select the most relevant points, customizing it to the job requirements. It's simple but does require the constant touching up of the Master document.
