As a Call of Duty player who has attended a CDL tournament, I can say from experience that incorporating meet & greet events with teams/players, playing up rivalries between teams, and encouraging fans to bring signs/flags and wear/buy merch at the event can make the environment much more interactive, competitive, and fun.

You need to understand that gamers are very community-focused. They will swarm around platforms like Reddit, Discord, X (Twitter), and Tiktok. Please, learn the importance of Discord and Tiktok both if you plan to engage with esports audiences. What is important is that you carve out your own dedicated space on each of these platforms where people can both discover what you are offering and can interact with each before, during, and after the event. From there - you can achieve anything.

Foster conversations and respond when you can and your fans will jump at the opportunity to be involved in the eSports they love so much.
