Maintaining work-life balance while handling a demanding client requires boundaries, prioritization, and self-care. Establish specific working hours and communicate them to the client. Politely but firmly decline unreasonable requests outside these limits. Distribute responsibilities among your team to lighten the workload. Address the client’s concerns promptly with clear updates to reduce follow-ups and miscommunication. Take regular time off to recharge, even during demanding periods. Discuss challenges with your team or manager and ask for input when needed. Engage in activities like exercise, meditation, or hobbies to reduce stress and maintain perspective.

Para manter o equilíbrio entre vida profissional e pessoal com um cliente exigente, defina limites claros de horário, organize-se com ferramentas de produtividade, delegue tarefas quando possível e comunique-se de forma transparente com o cliente sobre prazos e expectativas.

First, you should have a clear deal with agreed upon details from the outset, specially once the client is demanding. The quality of work, timelines, and payment plan should be well defined. This helps to manage expectations and reduces the likelihood of after-hours requests. After laying the solid foundation, you can plan your working hours and stick to that. Use a prioritization matrix for urgent, important, and low-priority. If you have a team, delegate tasks to concentrate on high-impact work for the client. Schedule regular time off or personal activities in your calendar, treating them as non-negotiable appointments to recharge. Open communication is the most important method to refrain from any confusion that may occur.

Being clear on when you can revert back is crucial. Setting rules clear on, no work over weekends and evenings. Don't apologize for setting boundaries, as this is your right. Be true to your words too, when you say you will revert back, then revert back to establish mutual respect.

most people don’t mind what your flow of communication is, as long as they know what to expect. i often build clear boundaries around communication and deliverables ahead of time, so there aren’t issues to begin with. sometimes these things require staying what seems obvious to you, knowing that we all move through the work differently. as an example, rapid turnaround time for communication is reasonable for some situations and completely unnecessary for others. spelling out these expectations ahead of time makes challenges within the work much simpler to negotiate.
