First, the entire team must be capable of operating remotely: your goal is to establish the necessary rules, define time zone policies, set up communication channels, and, most importantly, keep them active. Next, you need to find the right balance between remote work, which should dominate if most of your employees are geographically dispersed, and in-person meetings. The ratio depends on geographic constraints, but even teams based on different continents should have live events at least biannually or quarterly.
