In my experience when I strive for personal career growth I align it with my team's goals by Step 1: Identify expected skills areas & develop with the team's current needs Step 2: Try seeking opportunities to contribute to teams objectives Step 3: Communicate career aspirations with manager to find mutual pathways for career growth Be Open, transparent, communicate & work on Individual Development Plans monitor thoroughly the progress and adapt to any improvement areas.

I focus on finding overlap between my skills and team needs. I look for projects that allow me to develop while also benefiting the team. By volunteering for projects that fill gaps, I can learn new skills while contributing to our success. Additionally, I communicate openly with my manager about my career goals, ensuring my growth supports our team objectives. This way, I balance my ambitions with the team's needs effectively.

I have always believed that your growth is always in proportion with your team's growth. Either of them can't grow without each other. Find the out the learnings or trainings needed by the team and also entangle your needs within that goal. Learn together and grow together. Always create OKRs to know where you are. Keep it simple, keep it easy.
