Leadership is all about impact and inspiration. My approach to leadership in e-learning is to create an impact for those people around me, whom I have direct access through my e-learning platforms. At Dow University, we acheived this by initially providing our Learning Management System's access to the affiliated Nursing and Physiotherapy institutions, just today, we opened our LMS for the non-teaching staff of the University. To stand out in a leadership role in E-Learning, I will continue to learn and implement simple but innovative and cost-effective (preferrably free tools) in teaching and learning to create personalized and engaging teaching and learning experiences. I hope to build a culture of continuous improvement

I will start by conducting a Need Analysis of the targeted learning audience and then leverage the data from their response to craft a compelling vision/direction for the e-learning intervention while giving attention to contextualization so as to ensure that all learning program tailor-made for the peculiarity of the context of the learning audience. For the program design, I will leverage the learning sciences to design learning interventions with clear result outcomes while leveraging the principles of how learning happens and then ensure that I measure at every phase of the intervention for continuous improvements.

Demonstrating tangible outputs that come from a learning implementation. eLearning is often looked at as a passive experience. Demonstrate a strategy to evaluate the impacts a digital learning initiative will drive. Having examples of how you have done this in the past and what impacts were created will speak volumes to the business you interview with.

I strive to lead in E-Learning by mastering emerging technologies like AI-driven learning, and Learning Systems. Innovation is key to my approach, constantly exploring new ways to engage learners through interactive content. My leadership extends to mentoring others and managing impactful projects, ensuring I'm always at the forefront of educational trends. Networking with industry leaders and understanding market demands are crucial aspects of my strategy. Ultimately, my goal is to create accessible, inclusive learning experiences that drive real impact, supported by continuous learning and adaptation to stay ahead in this dynamic field.

In my experience over the past 20+ years teaching in higher education, I have realized that engaging learners in hands-on experiential learning is the best way for sustained transformative learning. As I transitioned to designing online learning, I use technology tools to emulate in-person interactive learning. Technological tools such as kahoot, help the instructor to engage learners in real time by designing quizzes to review students' knowledge. I use Mentimeter to contribute their ideas. My synchronous classes are delivered using the ZOOM platform which enables me to use tools such as whiteboard, Nearpod and other polling software to engage learners in real time. For asynchronous classes I use Desire to Learn as a learning repository.

In my experience, I have touched how the concept of Gamification in learning is a great tool for increasing the #engagement of #learners and for any educator who wants to make #e-learning more effective. Includes the game elements that help to encourage the learners, to retain the information, and even develop the feeling of belonging to a group. Gamification can involve awards and point systems, badges, quests, and challenges, in addition to more to mention here.

One of the biggest challenges in the elearning world is retention. keeping the learner engaged so they don't lose focus. There are lot of interactions that can be planned to achieve this as well. - Have some group discussions. - If possible arrange a localized workshop. ( Human interaction is important) - Keep a reward system.

The challenge of using the platform cannot exceed the challenge of the goals and activities which the platform is supporting. Students want to learn about their interests and new profession and so are motivated by tools that push them forward fatherhan slow them down.
