Begin by learning about your new environment , listen carefully and watch how things work. Be open to feedback and willing to change your plans when needed. When unexpected problems come up, adjust quickly to show your strength and problem-solving skills. Encourage your team to be flexible by supporting new ideas. By being adaptable yourself, you inspire your team to do the same. This sets you apart and helps the organization succeed in a world that is always changing.

Self-awareness is key. Your job is often shifting from individual contributor to leader, so it is imperative that you remain open to learning, understand you are not expected to be an expert in everything, and your goal is to steer the ship rather than do peoples jobs. You will mess up, and it will be hard, imposter syndrome will set in, and by the time you think you have it figured out, you will be on to your next leadership role. Embrace the discomfort or let someone else lead.

TREAT YOURSELF AS PROBATION Adaptability to stand out and succeed when you are stepping into new leadership role can be done peacefully through 3 steps of probation period in 3 months or 100 days to get accepted with contribution. 1. Do nothing in first month. It is refer to spend your time to scan your new environment, to understand your surrounding. Identify your stakeholders, what they do and deliver. Avoid to disturb surrounding with your inspiration. 2. Do something that nobody does. Do not try to help others, they still doubt on you. It will not worry your surroundings and you show achievement. People starts to trust you. 3. Offer help to those who raise hands, and ensure they engaged and later becoming your followers.

It's not my adaptability that will result in success. True, I will need to be a grown up and know which 'hat' to wear in different circumstances - emotionally intelligent situational leadership is key - but being consistently authentic with a servant heart is the key. It's the only way to build trust - and when trust is in place and maintained, then my people and colleagues will stand out and succeed together. It's not about me and my role.
