To make the most of your SEO internship, focus on learning as much as you can about how websites get ranked by search engines like Google. Dive into keyword research, understanding what people search for and how to make content that matches those searches. Practice writing SEO-friendly content and get familiar with tools that analyze website performance. Ask questions, take on tasks even if they seem challenging, and seek feedback on your work. Most importantly, observe how changes you make affect website traffic and rankings. This hands-on experience is invaluable.

As an SEO Intern, you can learn so much from the people you work with. Make it a practice to meet someone new for lunch or coffee at least once a week. Talk to designers, developers and copywriters to learn about their roles in the projects and how as an SEO you can support them.

100% ask all the questions that you can. Regardless of how simple they might be. Take notes, watch others do and learn by doing. The first minute that you can get into an SEO tool or project, do that. Jump right in and start to do things while you remember all of the things you've got in your head in regards to SEO. Then ask more questions. Your ambition to learn is going to speak volumes as an intern and in most cases you are not going to be given a project that breaks anything. When you have down time, review what you have taken down as notes and make sure it all makes sense to you. If not, time for more questions.

Of course you are going to have some wins, but the real work starts when the feedback loop isn't always about the wins. Always keep an open mind and even if you know a little about SEO, do not let the curse of knowledge get in your way when seeking feedback. Never assume that you know more than the other person and when getting feedback, assume they are thinking the same thing.
