I do not believe in hard negotiation - it is about how do we create collaborative impact- the company needs to undestand areas at work and beyond work which leads to finding my full expression and at the same time what company expects as a outcome. As leaders we have to move beyond give and take approach.

Try to be open to the benefits being in the office on certain days would bring (eg connection, mentorship, on-boarding ) and seeing the perspective of the employer about why they might want you certain days in office. I would impress them first before negotiating on flexibility, but when the time comes to negotiate a job offer flexibility can definitely be a bargaining chip! Each case is unique so these are my high level views.
