Then be very truthful to yourself and ask, based on your current performance, do you really deserve the promotion. If you answered yes to the question above then do your research to determine where you want to move up in the organisation. Are changing teams, departments etc. Do you have the right skills for your desired post? When you are clear on all of the above. Go ahead to map out your progression path before making your request for promotion.
