During the proposal process make sure you have valid quotes with cost and schedule, especially for long lead materials During the program have the buyers issue PO’s for each component early enough to support the programs schedule, making sure to account for vendor lead times. The buyers should issue the PO and then set a short meeting within the next couple of days to confirm receipt of the PO and acceptance. Buyers will push back about the meeting, but this meeting will take 5 minutes or 30 minutes, but insures your vendors has the PO. Some vendors may not accept a PO, even if they have received the PO. A vendor that doesn’t accept your PO initially can cause your program to be late. Always confirm with vendors

The feeling of being trater as a real partner through thick & thin the transition of project completion is amazing which not only boost the morale of the vendor but to collective evaluate the mitigation plan in case of some real challeng.
