You're preparing for an educational leadership interview. How can you dress to leave a lasting impression?

My dressing sense has to resonate the mission, vision, ethics and the very essence of the institution's goals per se as it would not be me but the face of the school who would be interviewing. As such I would be more of a brand ambassador than a mere interviewer. I must reflect what the school stands for and expects its employees to stand for. A perfect blend of simplicity, approachability, decency, class and a shade of authority.

One should have the clarity of the event, purpose, presence and place.Once that is sorted out, dressing sense and boardroom mannerisms will automatically fall in place.

Do agree that accessories are quintessential part of ensemble however being minimalist is always wise in professional field and set ups. Anything loud only becomes counter productive instead of enhancing the personality and the persona.

My mentor once said, "Let your personality shine through subtle elegance." Stick to a classic watch, understated jewelry, to show you value details without being distracting. In an interview, you want to communicate that you’re a thoughtful leader, not someone seeking attention through flashy items.

A man is known by his shoes and his hat goes the saying. Hence the right kind of footwear is a must to complete and complement the look, demeanour and act as an add on to the confidence level as well as professionalism.

Before I stepped onto the stage in Dubai, my mentor gave me this unforgettable piece of advice : "Stand tall, shoulders back, and smile." Small adjustments to your posture and demeanor make a world of difference. Check for wrinkles in your clothes, ensure everything fits well, and most importantly, wear a confident smile.

Can't agree less. Eye for details has always been the trusted bed fellow of hard core professionals. Overlooking or losing sight of small things often makes one pay heavy price. All the hard work goes down the drain if micro details are missed out.
