The choice for an industry comes first. "Software" means different things for commodities, IoT, medical, automotive, avionics, defense, and so on. They have different programming languages, language subsets, archtecture standards, development processes. While a transition between medical, automotive and avionics can work, other transitions may not make sense as you would start from scratch technically and mindset wise. Therefore, make up your mind about what you feel more comfortable with: Pure data and algorithms vs control of physical things Human interaction vs machine interaction Incremental maintenance vs first time right Short term wins vs long term stability Any choice is right. Just make sure it is right for you.

starting out as a software developer, I felt like an outsider, struggling to land a job. It seemed like I didn’t fit into the mold big companies were looking for. ?? But over time, as I started working on my own software ideas, I realized something crucial: to stand out, you shouldn’t be boxed in by the rigid frameworks of big corporations. ?? The use cases they cater to are often inflexible, leaving little room for the creativity that drives true innovation. Like Jobs and Zuckerberg, I found that real creativity often thrives outside corporate norms. Embracing this outsider mentality allowed me to bring flexibility and fresh ideas to my work. ?? Being different isn’t a weakness it’s where true innovation begins. ??

Don't make the mistake and focus on programming only. In future, software engineers will need to cover a way broader range of tasks than now. Being a coding monkey will lead you into a dead-end. Instead, get in touch with topics around coding and get at least a glimpse of topics around it. That can be managerial, that can be architectural, the can be processing. Not to forget the economical aspects - In the end, each company wants to make money. Also get out of your tech stack once in a while and see what's out there. This helps you finding solutions for problems that you don't think of now.

A Software developer is a generic phrase which defines you are one who is designing and developing applications, documenting things, managing code, setting best practices in IT firm. To grasp SDE position in a good product base company it is important to have system design, computer and software engineering fundamentals, coding languages and frameworks, algorithms and data structures knowledge. Well my journey has been more around finding bugs and fixing them. Worked on OS internals and low level kernel drivers, C programming language and dissambly , the new generation languages of C++, Rust have more inbuilt safety features by default

Para estudiar esto te debe gustar la estética, te preocupa mucho "el cómo el usuario o las personas interactúan con lo que tú creas (páginas webs, aplicaciones)", te gusta que los usuarios sientan que tu software es fácil de usar y superintuitivo, esto te hace sentir que haces mejor, y si algo no se ve bien modificas hasta el mínimo pixel, para que todo este perfecto.

Si no te gusta interactuar con detalles o la vista del usuario final, como se ve una caja de texto, ni como enviar datos entre vistas. Esto tal vez sea lo ideal, te encargas de solo interactuar con los servidores, la base de datos, crear las respuestas ante API's de consultas. En el Back-end es lo que se encargara de manejar y solucionar todo sobre la lógica del negocio y operaciones. Si eres programador back-end para crear la u optimizar toda la funcionalidad real del sistema.

Back-end engineering is quite special. It's the most complex part of every system yet it's the one that nobody notices or cares about unless something bad is happening in it. There are so many different languages, frameworks, architectures and technologies that can be used that you will never really run out of options to learn and grow. However, if you're looking for praise from clients and/or bosses, this may not be your ideal role. From my experience, I've witnessed more people marvel at a change of colour of a button than at the automatization of a whole core business process. If you don't really care about that, though, back-end engineering is the best to really boost your skills.

Starting a career in backend technology is super cool as one get to know about servers, apis how internet works , to understand relationships of databases authentications and security at the same time .

Si te gusta todo de la programación, crear la lógica detrás de todo, te gusta corregir y crear vistas para que el usuario se adapte mejor al sistema, que sea fácil de usar, te interesa el despliegue de aplicaciones y las comunicaciones externas e internas del software con el que trabajes, definitivamente puedes estudiar para ser Full-Stack, básicamente te entrenas para aprender a resolver problemas en cualquier parte del código y en hasta puedes comenzar al crear un aplicativo para desde cero.

It’s okay to start as full stack as you will learn both backend and frontend frameworks, and you will be able to know where is your strong points,and what are you enjoying more ,backend or frontend , me myself start as a full stack developer but now I’m a software engineer where my strong points being more in backend development and I more enjoy what is behind the sense , I also able to handle the frontend development part as part of the team collaboration so starting as a full stack is the best choice specially for those who don’t understand what’s exactly the difference between backend, frontend , what is development, design, architecture… etc

There are two types of Mobile application development: 1. Native Applications: Deveoping apps specific to mobile operating system. - IOS which requires Swift as skillset. - Android which requires Java or Kotlin skillset 2. Cross platform Applications: There are frameworks that allow developers to build mobile applications for multiple operating systems (like Android and iOS) using a single codebase. However, for those of us who have been in the profession for years, we've likely worn many hats that go beyond these labels: firefighter, problem solver, or even 'the person who gets the work no one else wants to do. People often choose careers with limited information, and it’s natural to change direction as we grow or as new technologies emerge. The key is to stay adaptable, spot opportunities, and evolve with the industry. Personally, I find the label ‘problem solver’ more fitting—and, when time allows, someone who strives to solve problems in the best possible way.
