Physical activity. I love walking every morning and clearing my head. Prepares me for sitting down before turning on my computer and writing a list of things I need to accomplish that day (and refer back to it throughout the day).

When overwhelmed, I learned to ask for support. My ego should not be the barrier to the tasks assigned to me. Asking for support has higher potential and chances for important work with closing deadlines to be completed as a team. The work is not just about me but it's about everyone working with me. Similarly with case reviews as it impact clients. Asking for support is the fairest way to work with clients and work in the company. Asking for support does not equate to being weak or incapable. After support is rendered, it's good to reflect what happened and worked on improvement. It can be my own time management, it can also be company overloading me. Settled what needs to be settled then look at how to improve.

I keep Sabbath. I realize this sounds religious . What it means is that I take a day off every week. This gives me energy and perspective. It also forces me to prioritize my work. I also take vacation.

4 things that I find crucial when managing tasks and tight timelines. 1.) Delegate - engage the people surrounding you, assign what can be assigned. 2.)Know your resources and utilize them. 3.)Implement a system - either your own or one someone else has coined that makes the task streamline. 4.)Know your limitations and ask for help. What is to much work for one person is manageable for multiple people. Engage and activate your resources. Assigning tasks and items that are in within the scope of others is an effective way to lighten the load and allow your focus to remain on tasks in your scope and control.

Once I have an overview of what I need to accomplish for the day/ week - I schedule my days into blocks. I add everything into my calendar including break times. I put my headphones on turn on the focus concentration music and put my head down and start working. It’s important to push through the feelings of “feeling overwhelmed” to just start something! Soon the feeling of checking things off your list will be the reward!
